There is an inter-
connectedness to all life that
is possible to experience
firsthand, altering our
perceptions as it both
wounds and delights.  The
spiral in my work presents
itself as the perfect tool to
illustrate this unity.  Each
rotation flowing outward
and embracing the next
while it increases in depth.
It both envelops and resides
in images that never quite
solidify, symbolizing altered
states and the inexplicable
connection between time
periods, events and life
forms.  It represents for me
what could be a new and
authentic engagement with
life and a promise for the
future.

We must assume our existence
as broadly as we in anyway
can; everything, even the
unheard of, must be possible
in it.  This is at bottom the
only courage that is demanded
of us, to have courage for the
most strange, the most
inexplicable.
        Rainer Maria Rilke
The world thus appears as a
complicated tissue of events,
in which connections of
different kinds alternate or
overlap or combine, and
thereby determine the texture
of the whole.
     Werner Heisenberg
If I let go of the notion of my
individuality, then it's
endless.  I suffer when others
suffer, I learn from the
mistakes other people make.
I see myself as a midwife to
an emergent consciousness.  I
 stand at the gate reaching
both ways.  With the
simplest relaxation, I can be
in complete gratitude, and
the next moment I can feel
my heart break.
